African Youth Award in Partnership with Kids In Kailahun

Ali and Lorraine Patience serve on the leadership team at FLC and have a real heart for missions work. Over the years they have worked on projects in Romania, Zambia, Uganda and more recently Sierra Leone, impacting on many people’s lives and growing in their belief that God has called them to serve the African people, meet physical needs and spread the gospel message. In 2009 they started working with Kids in Kailahun (KIK), a UK based charity working in the Kailahun District of Sierra Leone.

During their February 2012 trip to Sierra leone, Ali and Lorraine implemented a Youth Discipleship Programme called the African Youth Award (AYA) in partnership with Watchman International and Kids In Kailahun (KIK).

As a church we have sponsored this project for its first year.

The photographs to the right show Ali and Lorraine presenting the AYA to a group of local church leaders, the second photograph shows them going through the training material with the newly appointed coordinator and the final picture is the new AYA Team in Kailahun, Sierra Leone consisting of Mohamed Makieu the - coordinator, three representatives of the local churches that will oversee the project and three youth workers appointed by Mohammed, to assist him with the work.  The AYA team will be working in partnership with KIK in Kailahun.
