Silence That Speaks

Silence that Speaks Our portrayal of Jesus and his Kingdom can often be a mixed one. On the one extreme are those who feel the compulsion to unpack the whole gospel, to thrust the whole story on someone at the first opportunity, regardless as to whether they want to hear it or not. And then expect them to believe as they believed, live as they live, adhere to what they adhere to, value what they value the way the value it etc, in short, the clone disciple as opposed to make disciples.

But then on the other extreme are those who love Jesus, attend church, read scripture etc, but retain little to no interest for loving others into the Kingdom. They are indifferent and apathetic when it comes to reaching those far from God. They possess non-Christian friends but have no impulse to share the love of God with them at any level.

Silence That Speaks, is an attempt to find a wonderfullly, more authentic half-way place between these two extremes. Taking it's lead from Mark's gospel it outlines numerous ways Jesus himself engaged people, speaking truth, grace and Kingdom into their lives while never once violating their opinions, discrediting their beliefs or belittling their journey.

The series attempts to show ways that Jesus, through the silence of his acts of grace and outrageous kindness, spoke the kingdom to kingdom-hungary lives. It is an appeal to reach others the way Jesus reached them, to remain white-hot in our pursuit of those far from God yet minus the blinkered arrogance, the restricting dogma and cookie-cutter moulding that often accompanies that desire.
